2. Data protection officer
Our data protection officer is Anne-Sophie Buxbaum, who can be reached at datenschutz@nynex.de or by post at the address above, marked “Datenschutz” (data protection). Please contact our data protection officer at any time with any questions about data protection and to exercise your rights.
3. Principles
This privacy policy applies to the website sunoutage.com, the sun outage calculator of NYNEX satellite OHG. The website nynex.de is covered by its own privacy policy.
The calculator runs entirely in your browser. Your input – orbit position, sites and antenna data, site lists and loaded CSV files – is not transmitted to our server and is not stored by us. Your browser itself creates the results, calendar files, CSV exports and reports.
This website uses no cookies and no advertising or social media components. Usage is measured solely with a self-hosted, cookieless Matomo instance (section 6); no data is passed to third parties. The map, scripts and graphics are served from our own servers.
4. Hosting and server log files
This website is operated on NYNEX satellite OHG’s own infrastructure in Germany. We do not use external service providers (processors) for this and do not transfer data to countries outside the EU/EEA.
When you access this website, the web server automatically processes information transmitted by your browser: IP address, date and time of access, page or file requested including its address, referrer URL, amount of data transferred, browser type and version, and operating system. Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR; German: DSGVO); our legitimate interest lies in the technical provision, stability and security of the website. Log files are rotated daily and automatically deleted after 15 days at the latest. They are retained beyond this period only where necessary to investigate or defend against a specific security incident, in which case the log files concerned are kept until the incident has been resolved.
After a calculation, the calculator writes your input into the address bar so that you can share the link or bookmark it. This happens only in your browser. If you open such an address, for example a shared link or a bookmark, it is recorded in the log file like any other page request, together with the information it contains (coordinates, antenna size and, where entered, the antenna name).
5. Storage in your browser
This website stores only the selected language in your browser (entry “sunoutage-lang” in localStorage), so that the calculator opens in the same language next time. The entry contains no personal data, is not transmitted to us and remains stored until you delete it in your browser. No consent is required, because the storage is strictly necessary to provide the language you selected (§ 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG, German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act).
The “Copy link” and “Copy table” buttons write to your device’s clipboard only after you click them.
6. Audience measurement (Matomo)
We measure the use of this website with the open-source software Matomo, which we operate ourselves on our own server in Germany (stats.fiberone.de, NYNEX satellite OHG). No data is passed to third parties.
Matomo works here without cookies and without accessing the storage of your device. It records the page visited – only its address without parameters, i.e. without your input such as coordinates or antenna names –, the referring page, time, browser and device type, screen resolution, language, links clicked to other websites and the IP address shortened by its last two bytes. The shortened address does not allow any conclusions about your identity, and no user profile is created. If your browser sends the “Do Not Track” signal, no data is recorded.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a statistical analysis of usage in order to improve the calculator (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object to the recording at any time (section 11), for example by activating “Do Not Track” in your browser.
7. Contacting us
If you contact us by email or phone, we process the information you provide (e.g. name, company, email address, phone number, content of your enquiry) in order to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract or to pre-contractual measures, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries). We delete your data as soon as it is no longer required to handle your enquiry and no statutory retention obligations apply. Incoming emails are processed on our own mail servers in Germany. There is no automated decision-making, including profiling.
8. Fonts
This website uses only fonts installed on your device. No fonts are loaded from third parties.
9. External links
This website contains links to nynex.de, the website of NYNEX satellite OHG (provider and imprint). Your browser only opens nynex.de when you click such a link. The privacy policy of nynex.de applies there.
10. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). To exercise these rights, please use the contact details above. Your right to object (Art. 21 GDPR) is described separately in section 11.
11. Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)
Where we process your personal data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (server log files, audience measurement, responding to general enquiries), you have the right to object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then no longer process the data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. Please send your objection to the contact details given in section 1 or 2.
12. Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement. The authority responsible for us is the Hessische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit (Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information), Wilhelmstraße 7, 65185 Wiesbaden, Germany, phone: +49 611 1408-0, email: poststelle@datenschutz.hessen.de, www.datenschutz.hessen.de.
Insofar as the storage of information on your device is concerned (section 5, § 25 TDDDG), the competent authority under § 29 TDDDG is the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Bundesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit, BfDI), Graurheindorfer Straße 153, 53117 Bonn, Germany, email: poststelle@bfdi.bund.de, www.bfdi.bund.de.
13. Data security and changes
Data is transmitted between your browser and our server using TLS encryption. We protect our systems with technical and organisational measures against loss, unauthorised access and manipulation.
We will amend this privacy policy whenever the website or the legal requirements change. The version published here applies.
